On November 30, 1977, His Highness (HH), Oloba Maroof Ekundayo Afolayan, Omowale I was born into the family of Late Khalifa Sheik Yusuf Adeyemi and Alhaja Munirat Afolayan. He hails from the Isale Oba, Sanmora, Kwara State’s Oloba Ruling Compound.
Many years before the birth of the young Oloba, it was predicted that the family would have a kid of great importance who would have an impact on mankind’s life. Ekundayo was born on November 30, 1977, at exactly 2 p.m. on a Wednesday.
On Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018, His Highness was crowned Oloba of Eju Land, Sanmora, Kwara State, Nigeria.
Oloba Maroof is an adept entrepreneur who thrives on transforming impossibilities into opportunities. The Young Oloba’s imagination has set him apart, reinventing his approach to creation and invention in the process. He is a standout performer with a youthful sense of accomplishment.
For over ten years, the ambitious Oloba dug into Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) in the local market. In the last eight years, he has been actively involved in the creation of approximately 1,000 housing units with several developer consortia.
Starting with his hometown, Oloba Maroof has a proven track record of community development. The town was without electricity a year ago on the day of his coronation. The Oloba began a “Power Project” to erect transformers and light poles that generated power, which is still serving the community’s good people today.
Oloba Maroof is a person who cares deeply about others and their quest for happiness. He is very down to earth and enjoys being in the company of his coworkers, in addition to his colorful personality. He sings and dances with them, eats with them, laughs jokes with them, and, of course, goes to work with them.
He is a true grass-roots person with unparalleled humility and a passion for youngsters. As a philanthropist, OMA Initiatives has supported a number of less fortunate children and youths in Sanmora, as well as Oro town and Lagos, where he lived. This platform has benefited a large number of young people to date.
He is the Founder and Managing Director of Almaroof Media Network Limited and Almaroof Standard Investment Limited, the holding companies for his Nigerian Real Estate and Construction, Facilities Management, and Entertainment businesses.
